An experience of the lifetime...

Some memories are meant to be as fresh as you can imagine. One of such memories, is I feel like sharing today..

Just the day before, prelim exams of my higher secondary board had finished. After many sleepy reading nights and alarm-awaking mornings, I was in a mood of sleeping and waking up without an alarm ring... whenever I wake up..however I wake up..I dint care that day.. I dint expect that to be so soon though. And leave aside "so soon", the way i woke up, i could not have imagined in my weirdest dream.

Early in the morning at around 8.30 am, my bed was moving to and fro..i could literally listen to it hitting the wall in trance. I couldn't figure out was it my dream, was it the alarm? what was it? It took me few seconds and shouts from people around to realize that it was an Earthquake...

Earthquake
..how does it feel like? how does it sound like? how does it look like? how does it experience like? i had only heard sometime on TV or may be in some science magazines like Safari ( "Budhdhishaali balako mate nu magazine"- Gujaratis will understand this; the rest, never mind.). Actually it wasn't even too hard to realize that "This was the One!".

It took just about 5 seconds to get out of sleep mode to rush mode. Everyone was rushing to the stairs...to get down to ground floor..to get down to earth... I joined the rush..on my way to joining the party, i saw milk spilled all over in my kitchen.. crockery falling over from the showcase...and what not.

Everyone was horrified..but this wasn't it! As I came out of the building in open space, what I saw in front of me was devastating.. A 10 storied building falling like a sand palace....A 10 storied building was turned into a 3 storied pile of stones and cement within no time...within no time at all... There must have been at least a hundred people in that building. A hundred lives...A thousand dreams..all coming under a pile in a minute without any intimation...without any fault of theirs ! Every person standing on the road besides the destroyed building, amazed, must had a thought in his mind at least once that "it could be me under that mountain of concrete". I had not related myself to being dead more closer ever than that day.

As the time passed by it was getting bigger and bigger and more frightening. News coming from other parts of the state were even more shocking. Whole city of Bhuj was heard to have flattened to this 1 minute of dance of nature. People were preferring to be at some place where they can see the sky above them instead of the ceiling of their home. The ceiling which they considered "the safe home sweet home" a few hours back. The ceiling of home, to build which they had probably poured their life's earnings. they were ready to give it up for their life that day.Even later, Aftershocks kept people frightened enough not to enter any concrete structures for days.

Who would ever imagine a day to start this way? how many days of one's life stand at this point after 10 minutes of waking up? hardly any..right? It was a real Shocker!

This is what you call An experience of the lifetime, don't you?

Optimist or Pessimist ?!?

THE WORST IS YET TO COME !

Is this a view of an Optimist or a Pessimist ?

the-only-left-blog-id.blogspot.com

I feel the brainstorming to write blogs starts with choosing the Blog ID itself.

It's been almost a week now since i've been trying, along with a close friend, to find an id for starting his new blog. The Bubbles or the Pop-ups or the Balloons that come to our mind to be kept as blog id, already exist! :(

Eventually, the only name which could be available according to me is
"the-only-left-blog-id.blogspot.com" !

So my dear friend, I wish you a happy satisfying blog id for your blog and happy blogging!
:D

What You Really Want ?!!?

Many a times one is in a dilemma between a couple of choices. Out of the choices, Apparently it is difficult to find out what you really want? Unless you are certain what do you want out of the options that you have, you can't act confidently. right?

I got a very good message today from a friend stating that : What to do when you face two choices? Simple, Just toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question. It works because while the coin is in the air, you suddenly know inside your mind that what you are hoping for! :)

I think it will work. I'm gonna try this one out next time I face such a situation.

It's a New Journey, yet again !!

When you've been in a situation for a while, where you feel like the king, you feel you don't need to worry about things to make them fall in place.
That is the time when you need to break the ice, open up, come out with something new, something which you may not be comfortable with...It may be very stupid to do, but that is what,i feel, is very very important to Grow! as it is said , Darr ke aage jeet hai. :) Unless I come out of my comfort zone to try something new, there is no way i can grow!

Ask for Receipts ! :-)

Every adult in India must have said at least once in life that "India is a Corrupt country" and the same everyone must have encouraged corruption at least once by bribing someone or in some similar way. So who makes India Corrupt? "We" make India corrupt.

I agree that It is impossible to make corruption Zero from What it is right now in India. But to make India Grow, being aware about making corruption -> 0 is extremely important.

How can corruption be controlled?

According to me :

  • Lets take a simple example. A traffic police guy stops you for driving in wrong side. He asks you for 50 Bucks (with receipt) and offers an option of 30 (without receipt). Considering the Short term benefit (of 20 bucks), obviously one will chose the later. But had these 50 Rs had gone to government (which will be in multiples of thousands everyday), that would help government to reduce taxes some time later. Imagine how much traffic breaking fine can be collected in all over India in one day. And I bet hardly 50% of that actual estimated fine is going to the government.
So, I request you first, not to break traffic rules, and second, if you do break, please pay fine. do not Bribe! Hardly matter of 20 rupees is what makes India Corrupt ultimately! This applies to all the other departments as Traffic.
  • Internet's reach is pertty good in india now. So, We need to have a Integritywise dependable group of people to monitor a website where anyone can submit incident of request of bribe with name and department of person alongwith the city, state etc. And then strickt actions need to be taken with respective person. "Such a model exists" this thoguht itself will stop many of them to ask for bribe. so half battle is won here!
  • The most important thing is : First of all, I need to stop encouraging Corruption.

So, The bottomline is : Please "ASK FOR RECEIPTS!" :-)

Inspired !

Inspired by a very good friend's Blogs, finally, here I join the blogger community! :-)

I feel it's nice as well as necessary to pen down your thoughts on paper... Sometimes it is pretty important to tell yourself what you already know about yourself and blog is a way to do that.

I am hoping to find some things about myself which I may not know already... Your comments may be a help on that! :D

Cheers...
